A foundation can be excellent and still emphasise dry areas, fine lines or skin texture. Very often, the result depends less on the product than on preparation and application.
The skin is not properly prepared
On dehydrated skin, pigments cling more easily. Apply suitable hydration, then let it settle for a few minutes before starting your makeup. Too much skincare just before application can also make the product slip.
Too much product is applied
A thick layer moves, settles into lines and loses its natural finish. Start with a small amount in the centre of the face, then blend outwards. Add more only where you want extra coverage.
The technique is not suitable
Rubbing for too long can disturb the skincare underneath. Work in small sections and blend with light movements. On textured areas, press gently instead of going over the same spot repeatedly.
The finish is too heavy
Too much powder can make the complexion look flat. Use it only where shine or extra hold is needed. The goal is not to hide the skin, but to keep it looking alive.
Remember: less product, more precision. That is often what completely transforms the finish.
